Legal Compliance for Libraries Online

For this Trustee Workshop, Ron Kirsop will discuss legal compliance for libraries in areas including:  

  • The four different types of libraries
  • State Education Law
  • Commissioner's Regulations
  • General Municipal Law
  • Not-for-Profit Corporation
  • Public Officers Law

This workshop will run for one hour and can be used for compliance with New York State Education Law Section 260-d (which requires a minimum of two hours of continuing education annually for each year of a Trustee’s term). Compliance with Section 260-d is tracked locally. The System does not maintain continuing education hours for staff or trustees.
