Bi-Sesqui-Centennial Night in the Stacks

Bi-Sesqui-Centennial Night in the Stacks

Step out like it's 1924! Join us after hours for a 1920s-themed centennial celebration of the 100 years since the Library found its home at 200 Main Street. But shh…it’s a speakeasy! (A relic of 1920's Prohibition era, the term "speakeasy" comes from the need to speak quietly, or "speak easy" in order to enter a bar or nightclub where alcoholic beverages were available illegally.)

  • Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and drinks.
  • Dance away, or just tap your toes, to live jazz music.
  • Play popular card and board games of the 1920s (as well as some that have become popular since then too).
  • Compete against fellow attendees on a book-based scavenger hunt.
  • Have medium Kathy Hennelly do a private reading (limited 15-minute sessions available on a first-come, first-served basis when you check in that evening).

So put on your glad rags and get dolled up! It'll be the bee's knees!

This is an adult-only event. All attendees must be 21 years of age or older; IDs will be checked upon entrance. There is a limit of two adult beverages per attendee.

Pre-registration is required. Register using our online formWith less than a week to go, you may elect to pick up your tickets before the event or at the door. Registration and entrance tickets are required for admittance. You will receive an event reminder one business day prior to the event.
