Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale

Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale

The Friends of Macedon Public Library will be offering a large book sale in the Community Room of the library beginning on Thursday from 10 am until 8 pm, Friday from 10 am until 2 pm and on Saturday from 10 am until 2 pm.  Those attending the first day will have the premier selection of books, many of which are in very gently used condition.  Saturday will be a bag sale.

The book sale will be organized by genre or subject to make it easy for readers to browse for titles of interest.  There are a wide variety of books for sale suitable for the youngest on up to the most senior reader.  Prices on the books remain very reasonable with hardcover books for adults priced at $1 and paperbacks for adults priced at just fifty cents. Most children’s books are an outstanding value at only twenty five cents each.

The book sale serves as an important fundraising event for Friends of Macedon Public Library.  The Friends group receives book donations for approximately six months from community members.  The donations are initially sorted and organized by a team of Friends members.  Some are placed in the ongoing book sale within the library, while many others are stored until the book sale is launched.  Many Friends are involved in arranging the books and signs that are the hallmark and pride of the book sales they operate.

Funds received from the book sale are used to support the library's wide array of programming for all ages and on occasion for the purchase of needed equipment.
